The emergency number is for Belgians in distress who are in Vietnam and are in need of urgent assistance outside the opening hours of the embassy.

Despite all your precautions, you find yourself in a situation of distress in Vietnam. What to do? Firstly, contact your travel agency, insurance company, the local authorities, your hotel management, family and/or friends in Vietnam or in Belgium.
In case of loss of travel documents, you must first file a complaint with the local police. Without this police certificate, the Embassy or Consulate cannot issue a new or temporary passport.
